Default KRE Aluminum High-Port Update?

Hey Kev

I see you and KRE have updated your websites with new information on the the KRE High-Ports.

http://www.tinindianperformance.com/...iac%20head.htm

Do you have any more specifics like spring diameter, valve length and installed height? Any pictures on the intake side? Is the intake valve canted like the Wenzler Series II? Is the pushrod hole the choke point and does KRE put the pushrod hole in the head as part of their final machining process?

The valves supposedly will be 6.2”, but what pushrod length will be needed when compared to a common 72cc Edelbrock?

If interested there are some pictures of a High-Port head posted on the Pontiac Zone website under the topic of KRE High-Port heads. Some are side-by-side comparisions with it and Edelbrock heads.

Series II heads dont have cant valve. (I believe anyway). If you buy the heads with the standard pushrod location, that area will be the choke point.

According to the Wenzler website the Series II head has a

2 degree "splayed" intake pushrods = no pushrod bulge

Post More info....

Hey guys!

Yes we have updated the web sites!!!! Nice to see you found the info

On the questions......

Yes victor fits with NO mods. Spacer is cast into the head. Just bolt it on. I believe the BOP intake will be made to fit the High Ports as well.

The intake valves are not canted. Standard Pontiac 14 deg valve angle

Series II head is not canted. Not aware of any Pontiac head with a canted valve.... yet

Valves are 6.200 long.

I used 10.400 3/8 length pushrods on my combo (if I remember correctly)

The pushrod holes are a part of the final mach process. As noted on the web page they are either standard location or .700 offset. Standard location is good to approx 370 cfm and the 380 + cfm will be .700 offset You need to tell us what way you want to go on the pushrod holes before they are machined.

Kev

I believe for a solid roller application the Comp 959 springs or equilvent have been used. The 959's are 1.645 in diameter and it would work out at about 2.000 installed height.

Shaft Rockers are also available for the KRE's! For only $795!! They are 100% American made! And ALL fasteners and hardware are ARP!! And our price BLOWS away the competition(Jesel & T&D)!
