Custom sway bar?
Have a vintage O/T GM with a factory front sway bar of only 11/16". Checking if Chevy's bar from the same generation is an interchange (won't be, guaranteed)- there is a 1" bar available to those guys.
Would like to bump my car's bar up to more like 1" but there is zero aftermarket support here. 'Used to be' you could get a custom sway bar made, thicker, patterning off your factory bar. Anyone know of a company that still does this? Bar is a very simple 'U' with just the 2 bends. Thanks. |

Eye-to-eye center dimension is 43".
Bar 'drop' is 7.75" from eye center to center of main straight. Impala bar I was eyeballing is 39" eye-to-eye. |

There is Sway-A-Way in Chatsworth, CA. Worth a try.
Oldsmobiles usually had bigger front bars, maybe try a '59 88 or 98?

Will try & find a spec.
Found Cadillac's: 47" eye-to-eye. GM '59-60s are 100% unique underneath (by DIvision), and by a couple shots of the underside of an O-59- it's a different bar by the contour... but will keep hunting. Seems to be my only hope. |

Ah, Invicta = Buick. My bad.
55-57 GMs were also division unique. Hard to figure. My '57 actually has a slightly modified '56 Buick bar for a modest improvement. I had explored getting a small run of bars made but was a little leary of eating the cost for 10 or 20. But larger application than just '59/60!

Sent pics and Addco got back to me- they're willing to make a 1" bar to match mine for $415.
That's acceptable to me - anyone have any feedback after using Addco bars? |
