Default The best hidden LS I've seen

I dont know about you guys, but when I see a classic car and the hood opens and I see the LS plastic intake its pretty depressing, not because its an LS, but because it doesnt "look" right inside those classic engine bays.

But sometimes people go the extra mile and "camo" an LS to make it look right at home between some classic fenders its great.

Here is probably the best example I have ever seen (and a pretty nice Riviera to boot)

Most will never know or notice the difference

March 2014 Hot Rod has "Engines in Disguise" photos & info on page 68 under the main title:
"5 Engine Trends For 2014"

I'm a member so I could see the pics but had to first go to the link in post #8 and then right click and do a "show picture" to get them to come up.

I sure had to take a double take of the motor. Looks like they use a carb intake but machined in the fuel injection. Put the all the coils in the back. Not sure what they did with the valve covers, kinda looks like they just stuck them on top of the LS covervs. Very retro looking. I like it.

FWIW - using iPad wasn't able to see images, so I "replied" to your OP copied and pasted image URLs in another window and they came right up wo any error msg.

And then also "magically" appeared in your OP. Oh the wonders of the Interweb!

Now that I see the pictures, they did do a good job on hiding the LS underneath.

They also did a good job of choosing modern size tires and wheels that don't make the car look like a cartoon. Beautiful car.

Have to agree: "Best hidden LS I've seen"!!!

Am seldom a fan of the LS conversions. Too often, in too many builds, they just look out of place. Would love to see what the builder did, piece by piece to hide the top of the LS3 engine.

When I first saw it, I just thought it was a nice pro-touring car with a Buick Nailhead, then I looked closer and saw the fuel rails then the hidden coil packs and it blew me away

X2

For once, the wheels looked right! Very hard to pull off on a big GM.

The front & rear suspension builds are also first rate

Thumbs up

That is a stunning 65 Riv (my favorite year Riv too!) and equally impressive and masterful disguise job on an LS. Lots of time, thought and skill in that one. I'd enjoy seeing the build details on that project!

Yes they did. Thanks to COI for getting the pics to show. They were worth it.

Very tasteful build.
