Default Who has a 4 post lift?

Hey guys I am looking at buying a Bendpak 4 post lift. They have 2 models standered and wide. The standered one seems narrow. It would save some room in the garage over the wider one. Anyone have one? Is it tight getting the car on? Under?

I have the Bend-pak wide. One of the runways is movable to make it narrower, altho I have never had to. I've used it in the wider position for a Yukon, full-sized Chevy van, and a '91 GrandAm with no issues.

No problems using it thru a 8 foot wide door; right now I have two cars stacked, a GTO on top and a '91 Allante under it, in a garage with a height of about 9.5 feet.

George

It will depend on the width of the car you will be putting on it. They include all the dimensions of each lift on their website, compare them to the track width of your car.

I have a four post Stinger lift in my garage. I don't know the width offhand but I've never had issues driving on or off it, the biggest problem is usually ceiling height - make sure you can lift the car up high enough that you'll be able to drive another car underneath.

I bought a Greg Smith 4-poster last year. The '65 Cat fits on real nice. As Stuart said, compare the specs. Wide is better IMO. And go as tall as you can. It's real nice to be able to stand erect working on exhaust, suspension, whatever. I know I wish I had picked-up one 15 years ago! And lastly, no sales tax in DE !!

I have been researching them for quite a while and have decided to go with the HD9XW Bendpak which is their wider/long unit. I planned my garage around it so space isn't an issue and I wanted to be better able to pull a car underneath without knocking mirrors.

Buy an old carhauler trailer, with ramps included. Then you can stack anything on it... as many as it will hold and high as you want.

I have a pair of Backyard Buddies side by side in a tall two car garage. My 63 Cat fit in with no problem.Because of the size of the door openng one is a little farther toward the left and wide cars like my 62-63 big cars dont go there.I put my 63 Leman and my 69 birds on that side.Love them, also have a borrowed jack on one.I think a lift with a jack is the only way to go.Tom

I've got a BendPak that was marketed as being made in the States but was actually made in China. It's a 4-post that's sold as "portable" But you can't move it when there's a car on it, even though their videos show a guy moving one easily.

The floor in my garage is as smooth as a mirror and I still couldn't roll it around with my '64 Goat on it.

It will move relatively easily without a car on it.

I have both the wide and standard Bendpack lifts in my garage. They both work well great. The wider model is nicer for putting an A body cars on it since the cross member brackets are further apart. The standard one only gives you about 8" of extra room when driving onto the ramps.

Every now and then I notice one of these lifts (sometimes a 2 post) installed outside exposed to the weather. Are these lifts OK to use/keep outdoors.
