Default 1971 Tail Panel

I would like to order a tail panel for my 71 TA, tried our host today but they are out of stock with no ETA. Good reviews over there years on the fitment.
Was wondering if anyone can recommend another company that has had good success with the the install Thanks, for any help

Are you talking about the metal panel or the fiberglass panel between the tail lights?

Not sure if the panel is the same as the new one I got 7 years ago but the ABS one I got then was rubbish.

I sourced a decent used unit.

Seems to be really available. Summit says they have more than 10 in stock. But maybe they don’t update like they should https://www.summitracing.com/parts/gmk-4321-850-701

Do you think these other companies use the same manufacturer as PY?

That metal tail panel did require some massaging.

Goodmark was the original source on these. Believe Ron Johnson had quite a bit to do with having the panels reproduced as well as the 1/4's & the trunk drops. All but one of the repro tail panels I've sourced came in cardboard box with Goodmark logo.

On some other large reproduction sheetmetal items, the part is manufactured THEN packaged as Goodmark or Dynacorn. Same exact reproduction part... That has been the case with the '68 (orig Goidmark manufactured) GTO hoods (marketed as '68-70's). Am sure that goes on with other large items, the cost to produce the dies is very expensive.

Sourcing reproduction sheetmetal... shipping container costs over the last year+ & supply chain issues have caused a significant higher cost for sellers of repro sheetmetal. Over the last 3 years have hauled in numerous reproduction full 1/4's, tailpanels, full trunkpans, catwalks, hoods, one roof skin. The last year, on several instances on such large panels, my main supplier stuck close to his prev price, but has noted that it was good deal i ordered as this was the last from his source (large metro area massive warehouse dedicated to reproduction sheetmetal & bumpers). Not a good situation.
