Default 8 Track Plug

Good Morning and Happy New Year,

My 72 is getting an 8 track player. I tried to make a harness and managed not to do it very well. I picked up an original harness and tired to match them up with the 8 track player by color. That doesn't seem to have worked out. Does anyone know what the line up is on the plug at the 8 track player (the white/clear plug)?

Thanks!

Here are some pics from manual.

There was a thread a few years ago on tape player wiring like this.

Might try a search with my name in it.

Tested good and ready to go. let me know what type of radio you will be using the harness with as mono and stereo harness are not interchangeable without moving a few wires. Jim

Terry,
I can send you the pinout for the stereo harness and you can make one or fix the one you have. Or I can sell you one with all the correct connectors that has been tested with an 8 track player and AMFM stereo radio. I have a bunch of them. In a month or so I will have a factory 8 track player that will play mp3 tunes with improved power output (50W x 4 channels to 2 to 8 ohm speakers) and excellent sound quality. My new player will retain its stock appearance and function, but really rock. Send me an IM regarding the harness. Regards, Jim

No thanks, I already have both. When I made my own harness I did not note the proper placement of the wires coming from the player. I'm sure if I bugger with it I'll figure it out. Thanks anyway.
