Installing an fm converter?
Does someone know how to install one? Does the blue wire go to a hot or ground connection and where would be the best place to connect it? The black wires are installed just not sure about the blue one.
Thanks |

I'd say that the blue wire goes to a power source (preferably someplace with key-on voltage) and the black wire plugs into the antenna lead of your AM radio. The vehicle's antenna lead gets plugged into the FM converter.

Blue wire to 12volts switched on source. Make sure to ground the case of the converter to the chassis of your car to provide a ground path. Plug your car antenna cable into the back of the converter and the converter antenna cable into the antenna jack on your AM radio. Most of those converters were made to broadcast FM at about 1400Khz so tune your radio to 1400 and power it up and see if you recieve FM. Use the tuning dial on the converter to select FM stations and keep your AM radio tuned in to about 1400. Good luck and let us know if it works. I have a whole bunch of those converters and they work really well. Regards, Jim
