Default Glove box opens whenever you punch it.

this is in a 70 gto.

basically whenever you accelerate hard the glovebox flys open. I looked on year one but I couldent find a new latch, does anyone konw where to buy one or is there an adjustment for my current one?

Been there before myself.

See if the lock assembly has been installed incorrectly. The latching hole has a flat on one side. If the assembly is installed 180 degrees off it will just barely catch on the rounded edge.

Hey mine too!

you know what I think?!?!

A lock smith can insure the lock installed on the glove box is flush with the lid.

and....make sure the button/latch part of it is perfect..

At least thats where I'm at with that project.

I know my glove box door key button thingee does not sit FLUSH with glove box lid.

When it is flush it doesn't fly out as much.

You could do like I did to my gas tank door. Drill a hole through the lip and put a screw in it. LOL!!!!
