Default 1962 Pontiac Tempest LeMans FULL TUBE CHASSIS DRAG CAR

Up for sale is this recently completed 1962 Pontiac Tempest LeMans Full Tube Chassis Drag Car. My now ex-wife and I spent a little over 5 years building this car the right way. Now that we are divorced, my heart just is not into it anymore. We had it NHRA chassis certified in 2007 for 8.50 1/4 mile ET's. Did not race it until the end of the 2008 season, doing only 7 runs, and only a total of 5 run's in 2009. Body work is 90% done, just a little left to do-then paint!

Here is the basics: (any other questions please feel free to ask)

-FULL TUBE CHASSIS built by CT ENGINE & CHASSIS in Fremont, NE (Mild Steel)
-STARNGE RACK & PINION
-STRANGE FRONT SHOCKS
-STRANGE FRONT & AEROSPACE REAR DISC BRAKES
-LINE LOC
-AEROMOTIVE FUEL SYSTEM (-10 Braided Fuel Line)
-4 LINK REAR SUSPENSION
-FORD 9" w/ 4:33 Richmond Gears, MOSER FULL SPOOL, MOSER 35 SPLINE AXELS, STRANGE NODULAR IRON CASE
-WELD PRO STAR WHEELS on MICKEY THOMPSON TIRES
-ALUMINUM RADIATOR w/ ELECTRIC FAN
-PAINLESS WIRING w/ 7 ROLLER SWITCH OVERHEAD CONTROL PANEL
-MSD PRO BILLET DIST., DIGITAL 6, BLASTER COIL
-455 bored .030 over, #62 heads, Edelbrock Torker II, Comp Cam Roller Tip Rockers, IA Cam (good street car motor-not an all out drag motor)
-400TH w/ 3500 Stall, Fairbanks HD Shift Kit
-TCI TRANS SHIELD
-CUSTOM BUILT HEDDERS, CERAMIC COATED by TRAIL PERFORMANCE (these headders were featured in a High Performance Pontiac magazine article by Rocky Rotella)
-ENGINE DIAPER
-VFN FIBERGLASS HOOD
-FULLY CUSTOM TIN WORK DONE!
-Aluminum KIRKEY seat w/ RCI PLATNIUM 5 point harness
-AUTOMETER Phantom Tach, Water, and Oil Gauges
-B&M Quarter Stick Shifter
-Dual OPTIMA BATTERIES
-5 Gallon RCI tank

Thumbs up

Ruined the #1 and #2 rod bearings on the 455. New motor is in, and running. Got it w/ out any tuning to do 6.88 in the 1/8th mile at 98.8 mph. The trans must be slipping, since our 60' was only 1.50. Having fun with it while we still have it!

Thumbs up Revelation....

Like Madonna said in her song...."I AM KEEPING MY BABY!". LMAO

I realized that I put alot of time and effort into the '62 to get rid of it. As did alot of friends, and close family (including the ex).

I am doing better since the divorce, but still miss her deeply. I have come out of the fog to see that I am keeping the '62...and will continue to have fun with it! Thanks to all for the interests, kind words, and some killer offers and trades.

See you at the drag strip!
