All of the 8 lug rims are 14 x 6 regardless of year.

Did these start in '59 or '60? I think it was '59.

1960 was the 1st year for 8 lugs.

Per John's site linked above, there'll be another run of them in the spring.

There was a 61 at the POCI convention with them. Looked perfect. Real nice setup.

If it was a black Ventura with green interior, it was Dave Bennett's car.

I bought a kit but have not got around to installing them yet. Looks neat. Will post some pictures when I get to doing them. Most likely there will be snow on the ground

From what I've known from other Older Pontiac people that taught me years back. 8-Lugs were available late 59 and then you could buy them on your 60 Pontiac.

I think the later ones are 14x6.5... The reason I say that is.... I remember having 2 bare wheels laying on the ground and one was taller than the other. I think I still have those 2 wheels out in the barn.... but....Its too late to go out and check..

More information here, including all part numbers (there are five pages' worth, click on the 'next page' button at the bottom of the page.) http://www.teufert.net/pontiac/8lug/8lug.htm As far as I know the rims were all 14x6.

I love the 8 lug, disc conversion. I wonder how hard it would be to create a full 4 wheel disc 8 lug set up?

I didn't know of a disc conversion. Unless it's the one from Roush. Any info would be appreciated. I would like disc brakes up front, but can't seem to spend the $2250.00 that Roush wants for theres.

Yes, the Roush disk setup is the only one out there that works with 8 lug hubs.

edit: link to photos of the Roush setup, for those who haven't seen it. http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...=649337&page=2

the front 8 lug hat from rouch is just the rear drum minus the insert area. waiting for answer on price of just the 8 lug hat, i have the Scarebird conversion! if to pricy i will have two used rear drums altered to work up front! ditto for the rear brakes!
