64-67 gto ram air exhaust manifolds versus 68 and up
Can someone tell me the difference between the 64-67 gto ram air exhaust manifolds versus the 68 and up style. The look identical in pictures what is it about the 68 and up versions that prevents them from working on 64-67 a body cars?

It has to do with placement of the exhaust outlet on the exhaust manifold. Using a 68 and up exhaust manifold on 64-67 it would hit the cross-member causing a needed mod to the cross-member.
I guess the cross-member on 68 and up is in a different spot relative to the location of the location on 64-67, causing a slight design chanege and exhaust exit location between the 2. Hope this helps, Mark

I know that even the 64 to 67 Manifolds sometimes require a little modification to the cross member. But, I was also informed of this by the vendor before I bought mine.

When I had the 400 in my 65 I had the 67 HO manifolds without any issues of clearance.
But they were the 2 1/4" exits, maybe the 2 1/2" exits are a different story. Mark
