I vote no, enough clones out there but it is your car, not mine.

No. Don't pretend the car is something it's not. Just be proud of what you have.

I vote no . My buddies 72 Malibu looked great with the stock flat hood . We talked him out of a cowl and saved him some coin as well .

I am leaning towards no too cause I went out of my way to keep the tempest parts like the quarter script and the fender Louvers but all my friends are telling me for what it’s gonna cost to repair my stock hood I should just buy a gto. I don’t think it’s gonna cost that much though. Just a little rust in the leading edge

One of my car buddies, mainly Pontiacs, added one on the MGB/Buick aluminum V8 project. Blended in nicely and added room for the carb.

Nope. Not a whole lot of those left out there. Most have been cloned. There wouldn't be a GTO without the Tempest.

And it does not matter if your car has a bench seat or not, hood scoops go with a bench just as well as with buckets. My '64 GTO convertible rolled off the assembly line with bench seat, automatic on the column and Tri-Power. |

Do you have the PHS documentation? |

Sold that car 18 years ago. All but the left quarter was original paint. Quarter was hit bad sometime in its life and was straightened. Red on red with white top and had all of its working vacuum Tri-Power. I'm sure the car is still out there. Not hard to spot even if it was restored.

I have a GTO hood on mine. A flat hood just doesn't look right to me.

Fix the hood you have ... and buy a GTO hood. Paint them both, then decide.
The hood makes you feel more badass when you drive it, but the smooth hood makes you more unique |

I believe that a bench seat would have had to be a special order. That's why I asked about the PHS documentation. The pages below are out of my father's 1964 Pontiac Dealers Sales Manual. Dad spent his whole adult life selling Olds and Cadillac (through 1962) and Buick, Pontiac and GMC (from 1963 - 1995) products. As you can see, by reading these pages, buckets seats were standard equipment on all LeMans convertibles and were standard on all GTO's. Once again, I'm not saying that a bench seat GTO convertible was never built - just that it might have been 1 of 1 - making it an extremely rare car. |

I never go on sales brochures. Its my understanding that buckets were an option as well as a floor console for an automatic. Other than the Tri-Power, it was a base car. Besides selling it to invest in my business, I never was crazy about the car because of the colors or the bench seat. My buddy had a '67 Buick GS 400 convertible built the same way only better color combo. He didn't like his either.
