I have what I believe is a accel# 37300 – dual point manual distributor. I've never taken one of these apart before and search numerous hours for any videos or instructions on how to remove the metal cap/cover underneath what I think is called the rotor? Not really familiar with distributors in general so bear with me on the language. I'm looking to convert this to electronic ignition from pertronix and they said they need a picture of underneath this cap/cover. It looks as if there's a ring around it where I guess a pulley would be used to pop it off but I'm not sure? I removed the three screws and even though it spins freely it won't pop out and I didn't want to yank on it too hard

I've got an accel dual point in my '66 GTO- but it doesn't look like what you have. I'll attach a couple pics.

I give you some advice, FWIW.

Screw the chinese pertronics crap.

Wire only one single set of 32OZ Accell points to just trigger a CDI (MSD).
The points last forever because they don't carry much current (you won't even need a Condenser anymore)- and the motor can spin to 7500RPM if needed as such- without breaking up.

The only other issue with the Dual Point is no provision for vacuum advance.
That's not really a big deal, despite what others will preach to you.

I don't think you have the PN correct- that comes up as Mopar distributor.
But it appears to be similar in design to what you have.

It was designed for flat out racing where rpm's are never less the 4K.

If your going over to fully digital then trigger it at the Crank and just leave that DP there to driving the oil pump .

I had a Accel duel point back in the 70s that I was so dissatisfied with in terms of daily driving the thing 40 miles to and from work 5 days a week that I gladly gave it away 8 months later to a racer who made good use of what it had to offer in that regard.

And yes, I am assuming that since you are posting in the street section that your car will see street mileage.

Yes, and ditch thoughts of any Pertronix stuff. Just search in this forum for Pertronix and you will find tons of posts about how troublesome they are to say the least.

Okay, I appreciate the responses, messages and the help. With some of us here and a lot of advice on another form I decided to replace the distributor with the summer ready to run billet.

I'm going to have somebody else install it only because I'm not familiar with distributors and I never done timing before, but I am curious where my vacuum advance hookup would be considering my current points distributor does not have it.

I'm attaching a whole slew of photos if someone could help me out and assist me as to where they believe the vacuum advance is on this tripower it would be greatly appreciated.

This is a picture of what a vacuum advance can looks like. It’s part of the distributor and will not be found as part of any carburetor or intake manifold set up.

I would like to recommend to you that you do not work on this part of the ignition system until you have watched a bunch of on line videos about this kind of stuff and are then grounded well with the knowledge you will need.

It’s all too easy to harm your motor greatly if things are set up wrong!

Maybe I misspelled it as I was talking to text. I'm looking for a way to pick up the vacuum for the vacuum advance of the new distributor that I purchased. Where on the carb do I pick up the vacuum?

Someone on another forum mentioned to me that this right here might be the vacuum, do you see the vertical nipple sticking out

What year is your tripower set up?

To be honest I'm not sure. I just purchased the car and from what I was able to find out, it's a Rochester 2, from the looks of it it has to be 64, 65 or 66? I have a couple of pictures of the tags from the center and rear carburetor if that may help identify it.

I believe there’s a ported vacuum port on the passenger side of the center carb above the idle mixture screw below the bottom of the fuel bowl.

Just find a GM single point distributor and run it. A billet distributor will look terrible on that Tri Power engine.
You can run a CD ignition and hide it if you want, the points will last forever with one.
BTW, those engines came with cast iron distributors and they are fantastic. Big bushings, well oiled and last a long time.
I picked up a perfect one for 120 $ ready to run.
IMO, send the billet back.

That is a hollow stud that you can use to supply manifold vacuum to your vacuum advance.
