1970 steering gear box
Does a 70 Espirit and a 70 TA use the same power steering gear box? All I have found so far is they are "variable rate".

All 1970 PS boxes are variable rate. There are some with a 2.5 lock to lock vs 3 turns lock to lock though.
Most Formulas and T/A I have had my hands on had the 2.5 Box, but some Esprit can have them. Every trans Am in 1970 Got a Formula steering wheel, so it was mandatory it have PS as well.

The variability increase would be the same, yes. This feature really makes power steering a lot faster and more responsive.
