Default 1970 steering gear box

Does a 70 Espirit and a 70 TA use the same power steering gear box? All I have found so far is they are "variable rate".

All 1970 PS boxes are variable rate. There are some with a 2.5 lock to lock vs 3 turns lock to lock though.
Most Formulas and T/A I have had my hands on had the 2.5 Box, but some Esprit can have them.
Every trans Am in 1970 Got a Formula steering wheel, so it was mandatory it have PS as well.

Thanks for your response. My 70 TA is 2.5 turns lock to lock. If I checked the Espirit box on the bench and it's 2.5 turns also, would it be safe to assume the Espirit box is the same?

The variability increase would be the same, yes. This feature really makes power steering a lot faster and more responsive.
