low option '70 Formula on eBay
late last week I was told about an oddly optioned, and lightly customized '70 4 speed Formula on eBay.
It is supposed to have been owned by the same guy for roughly(?) fifty years, then the current owner for the last year. I hope it wasn't the current owner who added the terrible (imho) two-tone interior... or hte custom stitched door panels (I almost missed that they were not correct/original - but restiched to look similar to original). The video seems to lend credence to this being a great/solid runner too... VIDEO HERE Last Friday when I looked at it, it was at (I believe) $8,100, and it's currently sitting at $15,800 with just over six days to go. Options as I see it are: - power steering - console - AM radio - Wide ratio four speed - recessed wipers *no gauges *manual brakes *no wheel option *no steering wheel option Curiously, it's a Van Nuys car, which is purported to be original, but it appears to have a non-Ca Quadrajet... maybe I'm wrong, but I thought all VN cars left with CA_carbs?

If it went to a non-emission state (as strict as CA), it wouldn't have it.

Very solid looking car.
Agree the interior work is a let down ... but not hard to fix.

Clock Deluxe Steering Wheel (3 spoke) Why does the listing/description criteria read exactly like a B-a-T auction ? Is eBay doing it that way now too ? Or was it on B-a-T before |

What a silly option. lol Disc brakes were standard on all 1970 Firebirds; The Deluxe steering wheel was a part of the base equipment with both the Esprit, and Formula models. I get BAT alerts; I didn't see it there.

Thanks Jonny
I'm wondering if the current owner may have bought it (year or so ago) off B-a-T. And recycling the description. It uses some 2nd person lingo , and other lingo/format , that mimmicks a B-a-T listing. No big thang either way .. just curiosity The ultra-restored Blue 72 4spd Formula is back on the market this weekend at Mecum Kissimmee, FL |

It is of course very uncommon to find one still wearing its original dog dishes.
But, IMO, this car would look 10 times better with Rally IIs and white letters....
