The Browell Tool is not expensive compared to many other tools and parts you need for your car. Glad you bought one. It will make getting the bellhousing right where it needs to be really easy.

I have known quite a few people who were held hostage by body shops over the years. They typically do not do much and then charge a bunch of money if they can't meet your time line for a finished product and you want to go elsewhere.

Tom it was truly awful. I mean my one armed nephew could have done better. He actually tried to tell me that he couldn’t pull the dent 6 inches from the eyebrow because he needed it on the car for leverage and to make sure the edge didn’t get too out of round for the headlight bucket

Well the Trans came today. Sent out all the trim etc. to be redone today too. Just the trans came. Still waiting on the clutch and the rest of the kit. A little nervous about sending out all my trim. If something happened to it I’d be screwed. Anyway that’s where we are now.

I just want everyone to know the TKO600 went in with no cutting other than the shifter hole. Mockup on the ground said I could run the PF24 but I can’t because of the control arm pocket so I need the shortest filter that is made if anyone can tell me. Also the Canton dipstick may not work so if anyone knows a Lokar flexible that will thread into the oil pan I would appreciate the info. Plus I need a clutch pushrod that is longer than 7 inches. Other than that I am exhausted.

OK,now go back and check everything to be sure you can get it out once the front end and everything else is in.You dont want to find out that you will have to do cutting to pull the trans if you have a flywheel boat issue. When you get the exhaust ready be sure you can get it out if you have a H or a X pipe.I had to cut mine out to get mine out.Tom

I’m gonna use clamps on the X and weld everything else. I didn’t weld the tunnel porch I screwed it down so I can get to the top on at least the shifter. Everything seems to be good except the dipstick. Canton has a flexible one so I’m gonna try it.

I don’t like the trim and the interior is gonna be the dark blue. Outside is silver.

I don’t trust my welding ability enough to trust lengthening it and the only threaded rod I could find doesn’t look like it would hold up.

At least you had great weather today to work on her. (I gor stuck cleaning up tornado damage. With all these storms, will I ever have time to finish up my Pontiac?) Glad you were able to make some really good progress today.

The diagram in the manual shows the clutch return spring hooked to the clutch fork and to the bracket on the exhaust manifold. For those of you running headers what are you hooking the spring too?

Lost 5 HP today. Had to use a Ford 351 Windsor dipstick because it was the only one I could find that came out in the right place from the pan fitting thru the headers. The bracket was wrong so I still have to fab up one to clench it to the valve cover stud.
