1965 Front wheel hubs needed.
Hi everyone, I'm in need of two original front wheel hubs for my 1965 GTO. My original ones had the bearing races spin in the hub and worn out hub to where I can't install new bearing races without the races turning. If anyone has a set let me know. Thanks, Larry

Anybody else have 65 GTO hubs? Is there something I'm missing where these parts aren't sold by Ames and don't seem to be available anywhere?
I've got old hubs and smooth exterior drums, but one of them is not mating flat on the passenger front: it appears the face of the hub is not flat so once you tap in a couple of lugs they sit flat, then when you go to tap down some on the other side then the hub pops back up from the drum on the other side. With the .500" splined sections of the lug studs, there is just a very thin part left to "bite" into the drum. I'm up for buying new drums and hubs and putting new bearing races/seals in etc, but I am not seeing hubs out there. thanks! |

The lug holes in the drums need to be enlarged slightly because the original drum and hub were not supposed to be serviced separately. That changed in 1968, the drum and hub are serviced separately. The new drums that are available are intended to be used with the 68 and later hub, but you can use them with the older style hub with the minor modification I mentioned above.

Thanks Andre. I need to replace at least one hub, the drums are fine. Just looking for a correct solution since the face of the hub appears to not be flat.
