Chad how far does the Star mandrel stick out from mounting surface? I've only got so much room between crank and electric fan shroud.

Agreed... I did do a small amount of machining in a small lathe to make everything fit..

I have an early(late 80's) "gold" ATI balancer with the 3 bolt Chevy pattern. Looks like most mandrels come dual pattern. We had to shorten the hub 0.150 where it hits the crank gear as it was too long for the pulleys to line up and lathe the crank bolt washer are larger for a correct washer.

Looks to be right at 5" from the front of the balancer to the end of the mandrel..

Thanks! will be close but should fit.

Tried to turn it over with new Ford solenoid wiring-could hear Ford solenoid click but no engine starter noise! Always something! Now to trouble shoot-bad solenoid out of the bow, not enough juice from wiring harness to feed both solenoids from small terminals. New starter not working.

Here is a picture of the tank mounted in the fenderwell as an option. Not see how much difference on a motor plate vs the front of the motor though.

And why around the shop looks like some one did hand grenade practice!
