Basically, Box and No Box.
Street has to have DOT tires.

So long as the driver is controlling the launch, and launching off the bottom bulb, who cares if they do it with their foot or with their finger? I've always been a footbrake racer, and never had a problem with someone running a brake.

Looking at the web site it says Pontiac body and/ or engine. Would they let me run my Pontiac powered Triumph? How many cars are registered for the drag racing?

Yes, they would. In recent years there's been one racer there with a Pontiac powered AMC Pacer, of all things.

If my car is legal for nhra and I have a nhra license, can I just run at a ihra event or are there extra rules.

They'll let the license crossover.
You should have no problem.

I have never showed my license at the Pontiac event at Norwalk. My car has been inspected, but, I hear that is rare.

Last year was the first time I've ever seen them tech there or check anything for that matter. One of the track guys was randomly walking around the pits Saturday morning checking cars. He checked both me and Scott Esterle pretty thorough, I think he was looking for specific cars in general to make sure they were legal for their respected ET's. I wouldn't worry about it.

I'm thinking about attending Norwalk for the first time. It's a long haul from Little Rock, Arkansas but it sounds like it should be worth the trip.

John (and anyone else), you know my car. What class would an occasional racer, street/strip guy like be racing in?

Is that all? What was I thinking?

I've made the trip to Trans Am Nationals in Dayton a couple of times. I won't do that again. I was not impressed.

I'd rather be at an event where I can hang out, run my car a few times and not worry if there's a bug on the windshield or rubber on my fenders.

Check out the Norwalk website. Top notch place. Car show there too.
Plus, they have the best ice cream!!! $1 buys you a pound!!

If you have exhaust, you will be in street with your radial tires.

Critter - You'd be in the stock class(mufflers, dot tires, etc.). That's what I run in also.

Last year was the first year I've ran my car there. In years past, didn't they have some type of street shootout where you went on a drive and came back to the track for consecutive passes? Noticed last year they didn't do this. Just thought this might be kinda fun.

Is their definition of DOT including my drag radials?

Yeah, it ain't about winning for me. I just like running some and having fun.

If you like the idea of driving and racing check out this thread. It's something our club is talking about doing next year if we can work out an equitable set of rules.

Ice cream? I love ice cream! I'd heard the stories. I hope to try it out in person this year. Chocolate if you please.
