When I showed the IH the .953 is my eheads
the .976 is the speedmaster
the .918 is the speedmaster with a .055 spring locater

You will notice in some of the pictures I am showing my older style combustion chamber eheads compared to the streetmaster heads

Heads look good and you can't beat the price. I wanted to get a pair of the assembled non-CNC ported HR heads since the assembled weren't much more than bare heads. I don't need them so I didn't get them, but I will get them in the future if I have a need.

Unless something has changed 1.65 will work out the box. 1.5 will need work to fit

Mine came in yesterday as well. I'm going to try to pull the 463 out of my 78 T/A next week (weather pending), I'll match them up and do some comparison pictures with my KRE D-ports once those heads are off.

I recently installed a set on a 406. 1.5 ratio rockers have the pushrod up against the intake side of the hole. A 1.6 rocket centered it in the hole.

Moved the holes towards the intake side about where the valve cover rail is and had plenty of room.

Thanks for the clarification that is good info. It's the opposite of what we see on iron heads and E-heads that's why I was confused. You wouldn't have a photo of the rework would you? Curious how big and how far down I will need to go.

Best I can do. Looking at the hole next to the pushrods you can see a bit. Moved the entire hole that direction top to bottom

Does anyone know what the valve spring open/closed pressure is on the SM HR heads?

Here's what mine looked like when it had 1.5s. Fortunately only used them for break in then switched to 1.65s.

The heads I received the holes for the rocker studs were not deep enough to install the studs all the way. I will have to cut an 1/8" inch off the studs to get them fully seated. Has anyone else had this problem? Has anyone cc's these to see if they are actually 78 cc's?

Tim, are they too short with the helicoil tangs broken off? I’ve broken the tangs off mine but haven’t installed the studs yet to see if mine fit properly.

I had old studs and guideplates from my E heads when I switched to a shaft and they fit fine even before the tabs were popped off. But the first one before I popped tabs off felt a little "tight" at the bottom.
