Hallo Erik

Glad you feel thst way.

I would honestly say you can look at driving her home.

But of course you need to do what is right for you.

I was very sorry that it did not work for me.

In the end it was multiple factors that influenced my decission. The biggest one actually being that I did not "fall instantly in love" when I sat in the car and imagined living with it. Remember I do own a C10 from 1966 as well so know the feeling of owning an American car.

I did however buy this last week : http://retrorides.proboards.com/thre...troen-berlingo

I am really loving it a week in.

And despite being able to fit it in the rear of the wagon.......

It makes me smile.

Hi Grizz,

Your new ride is indeed something entirely different!!!
Glad it suits your needs and makes you happy.

For me the 71 woody wagon is something I've had on my bucketlist for years..... wanted to buy Lyn's (carguy66cars) white 71 woody wagon years ago, but couldn't get the deal done.
Never saw another one fs since then.

Like your pal said does it put a smile on your face? Yes it does!!!!

Would go well with my 70 convertible and 71 coupe!

It is a good car this.

I think Erik is going to be very pleased with his purchase.

Today was the NSRA Swapmeet.

Went over in the Prozac-Mobile http://retrorides.proboards.com/thre...troen-berlingo as you never know what you may find.

Met up with CraigRK, mate Martin and saw a load of other guys including Slammedcustom from GarageJournal.com

Awesome day.

First the one that got away.

£20.00 would buy this little tool.

I decided to let it ride on chance and go look once we had seen everything, if it was still there, then I would pay the £20.00 asked.

My mistake.as it was of course gone, Kev From Wales had seen it go an hour before I returned.

Bought these bits, some random, some not.

Set of auxiliary gauges from Dez on here for the truck, and later a chrome carrier for them.

The cast iron is planned for a Russian style Cross.

Number plate is one I do not have at all.

Some decent screw drivers and a super sharp scraper type tool I am sure someone will know exactly what it is.

Also a Corvette badge that cost me all of 10p

So all in a good day, the Berlingo also behaved as well as expected.

When I got home it was raining, so no chance to fit the silencer or any of the tinting.

Ended up with a glass of wine and some recoded Sky History.

I'm anxiously awaiting delivery of the Wagon!

No idea when she's going to arrive here (guess sometime this week), but she's already been picked up at Dennis' place, way sooner than I expected!

Oh, and I went to the Antwerp Classic Car exhibition today....
At least I found the 1971 Pure Pontiac StationWagon and 1971 Pontiac Accessories brochures

Nice license plate by the way!

Would have been better if it said 455 instead of 454 LOL

I missed this tread, I have a very beat up 71 Lemans wagon with some good parts if you need anything I may have it, other than wood grain pieces, mine is non wood grain.

I had this car for several years. It was sold new in Illinois and then went to AZ after one year. It had 65,000 miles and was absolutely rust free with a flawless interior. It even had power windows and A/C. I had storage issues and had to let it go. It was all I could do to get $3600.00 for it. I could not bring myself to pull the perfect dash pad but the next guy pulled it immediately and then flipped the car. Of course these are always the cars that also have every piece of paperwork.

Unclejudge, when did you sell this one?
Never saw it for sale!
Awesome nice looking Wagon that was!!! Would love to get my hands on such a nice one! And that at such a low low price..unbelievable!
What a shame they pulled that dashpad!

I have a decent black dashpad out of my 72 LeMans convertible parts car which I am going to dye and install here.
I know it's a 72 pad, with the "Pontiac" script in the dash, but I won't worry too much about it.
It ain't a GTO or Judge, no 100% concourse issues here :-)

Cammerjeff,

I haven't taken delivery of the Wagon yet so I don't know what I'll need for her.
One thing is for sure; I need 2 taillight lenses, and maybe the RH taillight housing.
I'm guessing I'll need a lot more than just those LOL

Don't recall seeing a 71 wagon at your place when I visited you. (back in the summer of '09 that was).
That holiday trip to Michigan and the Co-Vention in Dayton Ohio was great. Won't ever forget it!!.
Even the rained-out cruise-in you took me to with your wife in that 77ish Impala (or Caprice) wagon.
Almost no cars there but we had some laughs anyway!!!

Well,

It's time to update this thread;

As I said before I went after this green wagon.
I already missed out on a '72 Wagon that was for sale on Facebook in Ohio (it got sold within a number of hours after it was first posted online)

The fact that this one was located in the United Kingdom near the Harwich port made it even easier for me since I live in The Netherlands on the other side of The Canal.
So after wiring the funds I enlisted a shipping company and they picked her up within a few days as seen in the last pics.

After that it still took about 10 days before I took delivery of the Wagon which was a couple days ago.
Unfortunately I got sidelined by a pretty bad flu with a cold as well,

More updates to come....
Erik

That car is sweet Jeff! If you still had it, I may have been a player!!!

Here she was on the back of the truck being delivered last week.

Couln'd wait to start playing with her, but I got pretty sick with the flu, so no playing around with my new toy just yet...

Dirty and grimey, because she'd been sitting unloved for many years in a row.
Haven't seen many cars before that were this filthy.

So I began just cleaning her up bit by bit.

Already looking a little better a few days later;

Now I have a better idea of what condition she's in and what needs to be done to get her back up and running as a champ again.

I'll need to adress the rear floorpan (3rd seat footwell area) which is indeed in need of work (just as Grizz said, I just didn't know what he meant before I saw what was going on.
The metal is pretty flimsy and thin with a lot of small rustholes.

Then some decent rear taillight lenses, taillight housings, all new weatherstrips, redo the upholstery, and give the whole mechanical side a thorough once over, brakes, hoses, ignition, steering parts etc. etc.
While I'm at it I'll probably install a 400 4bbl since the 350 2 bbl needs a bunch of gaskets/seals redone anyway.
Maybe a new dual exhaust system because the current tailpipe is barely hanging on to a tie wrap.

Also thinking about UMI front upper control arms with better front and rear stablizer bars for improved handling.

Since I couldn't contain myself I just had to swap the 17" US Mag Bandit wheels from my 71 T41 to see what they would look like on the wagon.

And I love this new look with the Bandits!!

Think I am going to revamp the mechanical bits and the interior and leave the exterior as is for now (only lowering the front a bit).... There is a company near me that charges money for creating patina look on cars www.rustlook.nl Well, I don't need to pay them a dime!
I have the weathered rustlook already :-) LOL

Erik
