Why? I don't get that at all Arnie beswick is one of the main reasons why I wanted to go fast with pontiacs . With all that's out there today for our builds . That's a disappointment . Is it a sponsor thing . I would just like to know what the deal is . I know the man doesn't have to prove anything to anybody that's for . He's a great guy and always willing to talk to you . But c'mon get that damn Chevy out ! Enough of them in the world . Lol

i agree, but i think his camp would tell you its all because of reliability at that power level. thats my guess.. maybe someone who knows the team personally will chime in.

Sigh

How many times do we have to hear this broken record...and how many times do I have to play mine?

When Arnie first started racing the Tameless Tiger in the 90's as a nitrous injected match racer, there was no Pontiac blocks or heads available that would support the HP needed to run low 7's in the 1/4 mile reliably. So he went with what was readily available and reliable, aftermarket BBC equipment.

Fast forward 10+ years, and one devasting fire that could have taken his life, and he is still running the same basic combo, which is no doubt outdated by at least 10 years. But you know what? It gets the job done...it reliably gets him down the track in the low 7's without tearing up parts. Most people here only see Arnie at the Pontiac events, which is to say, they see him once a year at Norwalk, and assume that's all he does. It's not. Arnie does booked in races and shows all over the country, all season long.

He doesn't step up to an aftermarket Pontiac combo because of two reasons...money and he doesn't need to. People come to see Arnie, and only the died in the wool Pontiac gearheads care whether or not he is running a Pontiac under the hood. You're right, the old man doesn't have to prove a damn thing to anybody. Let him live out his golden years as he sees fit and lay off his case about not running a true Pontiac.
