Cool Well...

I judges a '70 at the Nat's one year that had it on the forward area of the driver side cover. Owner swears it was original. Best I can do. Ron

I could be wrong, but I thought the "Regular Fuel" sticker only went on the low compression 400 V8 engine (code XX), not the high compression 400 WT engine, which still required Premium fuel "in the day." Anyone else know if that's correct?

I don't believe any decal was on the chrome valve covers.

Exclamation

In 1970, the WT engine was rated @ 10.5:1 compression, definitely NOT regular fuel.

The regular fuel engine option on GTO's was available on '67 thru '69 models only anyway.

Included a 8.6:1 400, 2V carb, and was available with the TH400 only.

Default THANKS AGAIN FOR THE HELP

I SAW ON E BAY ALSO IN PONTIAC SOURCE MAGS THIS STICKER. I THOUGHT IT WAS CORRECT. SEEMS TO BE MUCH DEBATE. PARTS INDUSTRIES ON E BAY (ALSO AMES AND OTHER SOURCE BBOKS) CALLS THIS - REGULAR FUEL ENGIN - THE CORRECT STICKER FOR 1970 GTO ALSO SHOWN AS A GM RESTO PART. HOPE TO RESOLVE THIS.

There's no real debate. HFR is right.. No decal on high performance GTO engines.. only the low compression engine. This has been discussed before, check the archives.
