Thumbs up 70 455 RA GTO Back On Road

After over two & a half decades.

A #s 1970 455 with Ram Air, automatic in Palisade Green, no A/C, 3:31 12 bolt safe-t-track rear, and a few more.

Steve Veatch, a PY member and local Pontiac friend went through the car: safety / mechanicals, new seat covers/seat repairs, headliner, carpet, original paint, top and wheel refurb, new Pypes exhaust, and more.

This car was a real barn find out of Missouri in fairly decent shape...still has original dash pad uncracked.

Had one older repaint and headers, so I used a set of the early repro RA Exhaust Manifolds bought from PY a long time ago, still in box and Steve installed.

Still has its original Rally wheels date coded plus spare and jack, original 270 carb rebuilt by Cliff.

Steve did a super job on this car. A very presentable driver, that runs incredible.
Bty, there is nothing he cant rebuild or restore, from paint to alternators and all in between, plus a wealth of Pontiac knowledge....Thanks Steve!

Terrific looking car - looks like you've got a jewel there. Love to see more pics as per Boss' request.

This car came out of it's Rip Van Winkle hibernation very well. It's just a great example of an unmolested original car that was well maintained throughout it's entire life by a caring owner. I think Jeff made the right choice in keeping it as a nice driver class car. The new carpets, headliner & Legendary seat covers really pop with that 30+ year old Palisades Green paint job on it!

I was glad to help get it back on the road for you & looking forward to seeing you at the Grill 57 Cruise in with this car!

Hope to see it out and about Jeff, maybe in Wake Forest this Saturday at a new cruise-in at the Fire Pit BBQ?

Thanks everyone.

I installed a PY Sport Wheel they sell, this evening...PY had a run of the spokes made way back when, and no core necessary.

I was very pleased with the wheel for the money. The dash bezel applique on this car was a darker shade of wood grain, so the wheel looks good against the dash bezel.

You can see the cap isn't the right shade and soon as I track down the right shade of green, I will dye it.

Green is one of those colors that leaves you with many different interior shades, depending on the material.

Its a driver, so other than a few small cosmetic/functional details, plan to leave it as is.

*Barrier Blue....sending you a PM.

I know it well. My first car was a '70 Tempest with a green interior. Cloth seats, door panels, carpet, dash, plastics, they all have their own personality
