Ignition Resistence Wire
All this time I've been running power thru an MSD box and to my HEI off the resistence wire coming from my ignition switch. So I assume I've only been getting 9v when running. I wonder if there will be any kind of noticeable difference when I get it hooked up to a hot wire with constant 12v?

MSD/ Pontiac Gregg
The wire you're talking about is just the trigger side. The main power to the MSD are the big red and black wires, like hook-um up to the battery directly.

He is telling you exactly they way he had it hook up, with the wire that WAS prowering the coil feeding what he though was 12v to power the MSD, the trigger for the MSD is another sperate 2 wire connection for a HEI set up, PLUS if he powers it right off the battery like you posted the motor will constantly run once started!!

another option is to follow MSD wiring instructions

Turns out it shouldn't make any difference I guess. According to the MSD instructions the original resistor doesn't need to be bypassed with the 6 series box. Thanks for the link BVR.
