Question 400/428/455 values ?

I got a stash of engines that are complete:
2 73 400s 4x heads
1 69 428 ; I think #16 heads
11 70-76 455s ; these are garden variety 455s with most with 4x heads on them.
All are complete with intakes & carbs
Also have a lot of 6x heads.
How much are they worth ?
I’m gonna have my daughter put them on FB market place & I wanna know how much they’re going for ?

Ive been casually looking for a big pontiac for my new 62 wagon projects.

For mystery complete engines of unknown running status. Think an add that says, "ran when pulled" but you the buyer doesnt know if that was in 1984 or if it was running with a rod knock. Also you dont know if its already .060 over or not.

Ive seen anywhere from $2000 for engines that sit for months until the seller gets a little more realistic, to a few for about $500 that get snapped up instantly. I havent been fast enough to score one of those but I have seen them in the last year. The sweet spot tends to be asking prices of $800-1500. I suspect that there is always negotiation behind the scenes and the actual selling prices are more like $600-1300.

For engines that are proven runners that dont look like they are junkyard motors or have some kind of provable rebuild status they seem to start at about a $2500 asking price.

All engines are STD bore and blocks magnifluxed; they’re completely disassembled and each in wooden boxes.

‘73 400 engines - 400 to 600

‘69 428 with #16 heads - 800 to 1000 if 2-bolt main, in the area of 1200 to 1500 if 4-bolt main.

The various 455 engines are worth 500 to 800, Tom sold his cheap to move it quickly I’m guessing.

The 6X heads - 6X-8 101cc chamber 100 to 150, 6X-4 92cc 150 to 250

Shipping kills the deal for everything so local sales are key, shipping just a pair of heads is 200 to 275 nowadays.

Have fun unloading that excess iron.

Brad, bought a set of 6X-4s bare for $100. I’m interested in one of the 455s when you list them.

I am interested as well in either the 428 or 455s. You might be close enough to justify a drive.

I wasn’t really looking to buy yet but m always open to opportunity knocking.

I would be interested in a 73 455 for my 73 TA. You have date and suffix codes? My car is a 06A build

Thanks.

Point of reference: In the last year I bought 2 1973 455 bare blocks with 2 bolt caps, and crankshafts only for $500.00 for the pair. STD bore. Cleaned but not magnafuxed.
