Default Driver Sunvisor won't stay up.

This is one of the last things I need to get done and I can't get the drivers sun visor to stay up. I have tried tightening the screw where it goes into the holder, wrapping some tape on the other side above the mirror, nothing works. It is a new visor and new hardware. Anyone have any suggestions?

Not much to suggest if both are new, unless they are a mismatch of visor and shaft size. Some visors used the inner sleeve bush. If not, you may be able to add one, but it's a fair amount thicker than tape. The screws tighten a clamp that locks up of shaft, it's any guess as to if the reproductions are the same of have the screw act more like a grub screw. Are the parts a matching set, same brand, came together etc?

I used a Phillips head bit in my 1/4" drive ratchet and torqued the crap out of the screw. Oddly, the driver's side on mine was fine, had to coerce the passenger side. All brand new stuff from Ames.

Once it goes as tight as it can, it's basically done. Get another.
