Question 1970 Judge questions

Have a chance to obtain a 1970 GTO Judge. RA III, matching numbers on block and 4-speed trans, heavily optioned car but needs to be restored. Much is there, some is missing (carb, A/C parts, other things) Car is together and runs and drives. Far from a basket case. Seems almost too good to be true. Looking for ballpark values.

I decided to go for it, didn't want to lose it. At the last minute a few people jumped into the bidding. I think I did ok, I think I could get my money back at the very least.

Looks great! Nice car to start with and have fun!!

BTW: VIN matching numbers were noted on block and trans....

Never seen VIN on exhaust manifolds before?

Me either but I think he was trying to point out that the manifolds were not "correct" factory parts. They are indeed. The whole driveline is original which is a big deal to me and a major factor in why I decided to go for it. I've seen guys buy these cars with the wrong engine and in worse shape for much more dollars...

Nice score for sure. I see it was Granada Gold originally. Not many matching # Judges to be found very easily these days.

Very good! A decent 4-speed ram air car with its original engine and transmission is worth grabbing.

I have seen this same poster say similar off the wall negative things at least two other times--one of them directed at me--seems odd because he is sometimes very helpful.

Very cool! What's your plan for the restoration? Going back to Granada Gold?

Thanks for the very kind words. I wasn't bothered by the guy suggesting it wasn't correct, he thought it had the wrong manifolds. /shrug
It did remind me of people that constantly try to tell me our red '68 with a column shift and bench seat is really a Tempest.

I plan to keep the car and restore it to original, even if that takes a long time. There aren't very many cars like this left and it will be nice to be able to see firsthand the before and after versus buying something already done and not knowing what it was originally. I do plan to return it to original colors.
