hey fellas I was looking at painting my rear axle as I'm going to change my ratio soon. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good paint that lasts for this. I think rear ends look sharp when painted w/ a nice aluminum cover on there. Anyone done this? did you prime first?

I'd pull the banjo (rear end) clean it (or have it dipped) and paint it with an epoxy primer such as DP-90 then paint it the color of your choice. Factory would have been a 60% semi-gloss. Unfortunatley, mine is a front-loader so I don't have the option of an aluminum cover.

yeah that would probably be the correct way to do it if you wanted to show the car. I don't want to pull the rear end though. I just want to do a nice job for now. Maybe I'll pull it later.

Actually DP-90 is very close to what the factory color is for chassis paint, and is very durable as well.
