Does PTC mean Precision?

If so, my brother has one in his GN as do several of my other friends. In everything from LS1 Z's to GN's. They seem to make a quality converter.

My last two converters have been PTC units. The first one was 10" 3600 stall. It was very streetable and was really tight on the big end for good MPH. I used it for 2 1/2 years and it is going in a friends car now. My present PTC converter is a 9" supposed to stall 4000 to 4200. They missed the mark a little on this one as it goes to 5000 out of the hole leaving off idle. Even so, it is still close to optimum MPH in quarter mile. It also is very tight for street driving. Does not feel at all like a 5000 flash converter. I will likely be sending it back for adjustment soon. I highly recommend them.

Guys PTC were some guys that worked for TCI and went out on there own after the purchase of TCI by Federal Mogul. These guys build a very good converter and they know Pontiacs!
If TCI had not been so good to me after Route 66 two years ago I would have them do my converter.
Speaking of TCI they have a fantastic customer service warranty program!!!! For those of you that do not know what happened at Route 66, I had a defective converter that cut my turbo 400 off the back of the engine, there was a lot of damage done and I can tell you guys after they checked out the converter and agreed that it was there problem, they took care of everything including building me a custom converter, paying for the damage to the hood, flywheel, new transmission case, tranny lines power cables, ect!

My 02. Worth.

PTC stands for Precision Torque Converters.
Talk to KEnny Ford at 256-383-6868. Jim Butler used to carry custom converters from PTC, but he told me he could not make any money on them because you can buy them direct from PTC. Kenny has experience setting up converters for Pontiacs and the price is right.
