I have company
My Sister-in-law said that she was seeing something strange in her yard. I set my game camera on a tree at the corner of her house. I live right beside her, but my house is closer to the woods than her's. This is what I got.

A few years back there was one in my subdivision in South Florida for about a month. There is only one or two lots with vegetation, so it is surprising to see anything beyond squirrel, Racoon, tortoise, and occasional armadillo. I saw him in the middle of the afternoon trying to catch a bird (fail) The one I saw was of lesser weight than those 2. I have never seen 2 together, and I thought they were solitary with well defined territory, but this picture refutes that.

Badass animals. I don`t get em here at my house but, we are 20 miles or so from the Atchafalaya Basin. My uncle`s house is at the rim of that thing. They are common to spot there. They will take care of critters. Including yours.

Several years ago I was deer hunting in a climber about 20 feet off the ground. And for about 10 minutes I watched a pair of Bob cats catch a squirrel, it was quite a sight to watch .

I've seen a couple of them here in the part of North Carolina that I live in but it's been a couple of years. Coyotes are more common here.

The gang
All I get is these guys, there are 5 that arrive together almost every night. Also I get one possum and the neighbors cat. The Critter freeway is filmed using an outdoor battery operated camera set about 4 inches above the ground. The guy in the middle came over and tried to grab the cam but he didn't get it.

I have a few game cameras up on my property. Get tons of deer as well as several red and gray fox every night. Also get an assortment of Possums, Raccoons, Coyotes, feral dogs and cats. A video from last week showed a red fox and doe just hanging out at the pond. Another shows a possum running off a red fox...very surprising as I thought the possum might be a potential victim.

Back in my hunting days I only saw one bobcat over a period of about 25 years; they are elusive. About 4 years ago my wife went to an art festival in a small town just south of Gainesville. She came home with a kitten that a man was trying to give away, and he said the mother was a feral cat. This cat is like no other 'domestic' cat that I have ever seen. He has the classic ear tufts, a beard and huge paws. Henry is 4 years old now and weights 15 lbs. all muscle. My wife picks him up from time to time and he gnaws and claws as we call it. If he is really mad he will growl just like a lion or tiger. No meow and no other sounds that we have heard. I really wonder if somewhere back in his linage there might be some bobcat? Vet said it is not unheard of for a feral cat and a bobcat to get together.
