Gach, if you look at the picture Tom posted, you will see there is indeed a Pontiac rod listed with a 2.325" Big End as well, along with the standard Pontiac 2.375". These specs are what the rod BORE measures(without the bearing installed), that spec is not what crankshaft journal(crank pin)they fit. A 2.325" bore is indeed the standard BBC size, it fits a 2.200" Crank Pin with the bearing installed. The Standard Pontiac rod uses the bigger 2.375" Bore, which fits the standard Pontiac 2.250"(2.249") crank pin with the bearing installed....

Ok gotcha wasn’t figuring for bearing thickness I apologize Tomas you are correct. Still Molnar said those Pontiac rods listed aren’t power adder rods. Great that he offers tho.

No problem Gach, and you are correct, they are not offered in the Power Adder version, nor are they available for a .927" pin like you need, atleast without special ordering the with the smaller bushings like you mentioned earlier, but you still wouldn't have the beefier Power Adder rod when it's all said and done. I don't blame you for not wanting to go that route on this particular combination that you are working on at the moment. I would pay the little extra and buy the BME rods that correctly fit the combination for this build.

I think you can economically bush down from .980 to .972

Wondering if sbc 400 slugs are still the real weight reduction improvement. Since i had forged TRW sbc400 slugs and they were extremely light compared to Any PMD slug.

Tom said he could do it re-bush rods..it would cost $200.00 more for the rods
