Here was my solution to avoid stock/solid/plate mounts.

Polyurethane to dampen vibration and a captured bolt to keep the engine from going anywhere if the poly failed. That said, build at your own risk. My car is in the body shop & these are untested so they may be total crap, but I think the theory is solid.

Hard block to the bottom of the water holes should be just fine on the street. Mine is filled the same and will see mostly street time.
Your cam, on the other hand.........

I cracked my 455 block while using solid mounts went to motor plates and no problems with block cracking anyway!

Default Under 1.4 60's would be awesome.

If I can get motivated to put my car(65GTO) back together, I would like to replace the solid mounts with a Mid plate and some "ears" on the front.I would like to use aluminum for the plates/ears and have the attachment brackets on the frame welded on. Any suggestions? Other mods are 5,000rpm 8"COAN, little bigger cam and 200lb diet.

They say it helps??? If it will crack cast iron it will breake the filler. IMHO..
The more power you make the more stress you exert on the block at motor mount pad.
Just saying. At least run a front plate.

Consider installing some type of limiter to control longitudinal movement once you eliminate the mounts.
What we did on the '78 with front and mid plate.

Why couldn't you run a front plate and mid plate and use a solid motor mount as a limiter?

Either a solid mount on one side or both sides.

Does anyone else use a limiter on both sides? I just have one on the passenger side and thought that was sufficient.
