100% Ethanol should have tighter ring gaps, otherwise no problems. This is due to Ethanol running so much cooler.

Subject: 64 Fuel Pumps....
..no question: best thing is to rebuild OLD unit with a kit from Then and Now of Weymouth, Ma...these guys have a patented valve they make themselves with all new rubber diaphragm...it is easy..and it works...my old unit went from flooding carb with too much pressure to right into line at about 4.5 lbs with their kit installed...their valves actually flow better than originals they say and all parts can survive ethanol..if I can rebuild this pump..anybody with a decent bench mounted vise can do it....
