Quarter window sash install tips?
I need a little help with installing the quarter window sash on my '64 LeMans. I am replacing both the metal sash and the seal on both sides of the car. Any tips on the install process? Install the rubber over the quarter glass and then soap and water to lube things up and then tap the sash on with a padded soft mallet? Any tips are greatly appreciated.

If you are talking about the vertical chrome and weather strip that seal the door glass and quarter glass, I tried to put mine on both ways with the gasket in the chrome sash and with it on the window. The thickness of the gasket made the fit to tight. I could get the top of the sash on but to bottom would pop out and vice versa. I eventually did away with the gasket and used 3m weather strip to seal the sash in place

You need the correct thickness glass sealing tape & it will fit proper , & yes the vertical channel gets pressed on .

There is a thin tape called friction tape. You'll get close with the other tape then a piece or two of friction tape makes all the difference. I also have some pieces of the material cutting boards are made of , you could use wood alsoto help hit the chrome part and not the rubber part.
