Body Back On
OK, so the body has been off my 72 Lemans Sport Convertible for 2 years and the plan is to put it back on next month. I have the new body mount kit and have a question about the bolt length. In the kit there are 2 ea 3 3/4" long bolts, 4 ea 3 1/4" long bolts and 8 ea 3" long bolts. Now for the question, anybody know the right location for each length?

your body service manual should tell you. my 63 manual tells me for the 63.

I thought I'd be able to help. I looked in the shop manuals I have but it didn't list the bolt locations. I then thought about trying to measure them, but that would be impossible without taking them out.
Sorry, wish I could have helped.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm not sure how I'd cross reference the bolt p/n's to lengths unless I had the original GM bolts? Does anyone know which length goes where?
Thanks! |

Progress. 462 stroker installed and runs like a scalded dog (Thanks Gary !) and the body is back on. If all goes to plan it should be ready to go to body and paint by the end of the year. All the fuel lines are in place and I'm ready to install the gas tank. Do any of you do anything to the underside of the trunk pan before installing the tank? Wondering if I should any sort of spray on insulator to help with noise and corrosion protection? Thanks guys.
