Default Lightweight Working Headlights

My 63 Lemans has a 1 piece front end and looking for some lightweight headlights. I remember seeing some plastic(not glass) lights on a car at one time and would like the same. Besides the obvious, wanting the lighter ones so there will be less stress on the fiberglass where these will be mounted.

I'm going to start looking at some off road shops to see what they sell. Since most of their stuff doesn't have to meet oem requirements, maybe they have something similar.

Seems to me that Summit in the past had plastic "lightweight" headlamps offered...Maybe Scott E. can help ..

I got mine from Classic Industries. I got the small ones for my 68 Bird and the big ones for my 72 TA. They have the replacable bulbs too.

I put plastic ones in my TA many years ago, I think about 10-12yrs ago they still are working. I think we saw the Turbo Regal guys were doing the swap to save about 8lbs in the front end if I remember right.

I checked my garage and I have a couple spares that I bought, they are from Wagner. They are labelled as plastic sealed beams. I am not sure if that helps, I searched online and cant seem to find any now but hopefully some one can (I could not even find a home website for wagner).

Bump...

Anyone know of a good source for lightweight headlights for 1 piece fiberglass front end?

I looked at these... not necessarily planning on mounting in the original location.

I bought some Hella lights and they use a modern style bulb
they were lightweight and and extremely bright (I use a Silverstar bulb)
I also used a painless wire/relay kit too

Sylvania at one time did offer plastic replacements to the standard round light/square lights
not sure if they do anymore though

I have high and low beams in mine and they work in the stock location. I will see if they have a part number.

I saw decent plastic ones with bulbs the other day in a NAPA store for 12 bucks a piece. They were Balkamp.
