Your posting in the street section so is that how the car this motor is going in will be used 90% of the time?
Can your chosen intake manifold support and ideally exceed the level of air flow that the heads are capable of? Are you saying that BES , a company capable of getting flow numbers like that out of those heads cant tell you how much power this motor combo will make, or you don’t believe what you have been told by them? If so then does it really matter that the motor will make 800 or more hp? Will you really have the car set up to apply that much power on the street?

I'll guess 900 HP and 750 lb/ft torque. That's assuming that the intake has been ported to match the heads performance. How soon till it's together? What carb will you be using?

Yes Street cruiser, but definitely will be raced.
The price includes the Polar Wind port match to the heads, no other port work needed that’s what he said. Stan… hit nail on the head that’s exactly what BES quoted The car will definitely handle the power. It’s a 4 link suspension. The Victor even though it’s fully ported won’t work, 2 things I’m guessing not enough plenum area, and fact the ports on the BES Victor heads are much taller Scott….4 to 5 months to get the heads because they are busy. I have written quote from them. Maybe we can make Norwalk

The carb, Pro System I’ve had really good luck with Patrick. By the way he’s a Pontiac guy. I Don’t think most of us knew that.

Thing is, I was blown away when he said they’ flow 480 cfm, I’m like that’s BBC flow numbers, I expect him to say 420-440 cfm. They do how ever have a 440 port. But recommended we go with the 480 port. That’s kind of why I posted this, kind of to let guys know, who may be thinking on going this root.
Wide ports are out of the question and I asked about they High Ports..basically the Victor is their exclusive head they developed. I’m thinking High Port just need to much work.

Is BES working with Butler and all those Pro Ports that basically got given to them ?
Been waiting for something to come of it. Cam looks very familiar. 1.75 rocker would get .770 lift. Last edited by Dragncar; 02-05-2022 at 01:40 AM. |

That is one heck of a build!
Are you using the Sims roller cam plate? Which lifters? Did you already have the cam or was it ground for this build? I'll guess an honest 890 hp

Lou, if you do not have at least a 1150 dominator ( if you’re not going FI ) to feed this combo , then now’ s the time!
Something like a AED 1450 Dom maybe with high gain boosters comes to mind. If your stuck with a intake that’s lacking in Plenum volume due to hood clearance concerns then a slightly too big carb or throttle body will help to pressurize the plenum better in terms of top end HP if that’s your main consideration.

I'm just a novice here , but not knowing what the heads flow at .770 lift is just that. Is Cam not on the small side for heads that will flow that high? It should at least make close to 1000 HP. That Polar intake is huge.
I'm going to go with something around 880 hp 725 torque.

Sounds like the heads are capable of over 1000 HP, but the moderate cam and compression ratio will probably keep it slightly under 900 horsepower. I'll say 875 HP. Looks like a great build!

the moderate compression has less HP lost from compression losses.
Im allowed to guess; 580 HP at 5250 rpm, and 900 hp at 7600 rpm |

Carb is a Pro System 1230 cfm. The cam I have is 770 with 1.7 rocker shaft, I can go with 1.8 = 830 with that he said 875 hp or 1.9 would be 880 lift. Still leave the 264/276 duration. Keep it more street able. Right now have the Cloys timing gear set, but it’s the good one. The bottom line is I’ll have 100 more cfm head. Then what I have now. He did say the Polar wind going to want rpm up top. 72-7500 rpm. He like cam specs but said minimum of 800 lift. Quote from Lou Jr, it makes what it makes as long as it run 8’s. LOL
