Default Thoughts on the old RPM300

The 455 that came in my 76 TA needs to come out. Not wanting anything real radical but years ago I (as many others) had good luck with some of the cams in the 230@.050 range.

The 455 will get a set of cleaned up 96 heads and a set of RA manifolds. Poking around the garage the other day I ran across an old Isky RPM300 solid cam. With a set of 1.65 rockers I was thinking this might work out for the old pig. TA is a 4 speed with 3.23 gears.

I have no problem running a solid and even have a set of springs for it. Should have tons of TQ from 2400 or so and be all done by 5300.

So from the old guys tell me that I had a reason to buy this cam 25 years ago or so. I just think it would be a fun thing to run. Basic specs. 270 /270 228 /228 0.448/0.448 0.493/0.493 108

And this will be run at 6000'
