I have experienced Ocular Migraines the past 4 years. I am 61. I typically have an episode once every couple of months that lasts about 20 - 30 minutes. No headache pain, just the kaleidoscope vision and floaters with light dizziness. Been to the eye doctor a few times, my vision is fine. Went to the neurologist and had an MRI, everything is normal. Could be stress related. I have not been able to pinpoint any similarities between episodes. I take a couple of migraine pills and I am fine after that.

In my younger years say 18 to about 40 I had Migraines would have to leave work. Would need two pillows over my head for the pain. Lucky only about 3-4 times a year. From about 40 to now 68 I will only get the zip-zagging flashes of light in random geometric patterns as mention before. Two aspirin and last about 10 minutes without much of a headache. Bob I would get check out,but don't be surprised if not much is found. A lot of people have this same condition.

Yup just last week. My Eye. Dr. told me I am lucky because it gives you time to prepare for the migraine. My incident was like kaleidoscope vision I was ultra, stressed, tired and grumpy right before it happened.

I've had episodes fairly often for a number of years .... the crazy lightning flashes variety. My retinologist said that it had nothing to do with my macular degeneration condition. Usually, they show up from a combination of stress and/or prolonged exposure to harsh light. In any event, if I put my feet up and cover my eyes, they usually are gone in 5-10 minutes. When I had one that went 30 minutes or so, I was seriously starting to worry.
