As bad as some of these crashes look, seems the drivers most of the time walk away with a few non life threatening injuries. What a shame for the car looks like it was very nice.

That sucks. Windshield is smashed. Hopefully not from the driver.. I'd like to see a picture of the passenger compartment foot boxes too. Hope they're OK.

Do you have any more information on it? I tried an image search and couldn't find this one. But, I found plenty more. This may have been posted here before so my apologies if it has.

Is the telephone pole still standing?

Looks like it hit dead center.

Interior shot. I'll bet he's got a good amount of bruising from the steering wheel.

True, but the cars usually have a full compliment of air bags, decent safety belts and other safety features. I dont think these type of vehicles had those. Accidents seemed a lot worse years ago. I remember as a kid that hearing about fatal auto crashes was common place. Even lost a few hs friends to such. Now hardly ever hear of them, not sure if its because they just dont say or the advanced safety of a modern vehicle.

Considering that it is 50 year old technology, that front end crushed as it was intended. Good job engineers!

Tragic! Looks like it was really nice, wonder how fast they were going. Those 70s can take a beating. I hit some ice on a bridge in my old 70 and did several 360s bouncing off the Jersey walls like a pinball and drove the car home. Had to pull the front fender away from the wheel. Got home and my ex wife was bitching about what took me so long. She saw the car in the am and couldn't believe it.

I believe I saw something about this on FB awhile back. Not certain this is same one but it was a gold car. If the same one my recollection is driver did not survive and some kind of medical condition preceded the crash.

I hope not. If true and had I known that, I wouldn't have posted this thread.

This picture was all over the Internet last year. The story was the driver had a medical issue while driving and died from it or the crash.

I wonder if he died from the crash or the medical condition..? The driver's area doesn't look too bad.
