Pontiac actually discussed a 1971 GTO El Camino, but it did not get past the artist rendering stage.

What it needs to complete the look is to graft in GTO rear fender openings into those rear quarters.

The shape of the opening and the fender lip look out of place.

I've seen that and another conversions ( a 442??) on the web before. I would drive it in a second! If I had more time I'd build one!

The Trans Am one is gross IMHO, but the photo has other attributes…

I agree that the rear quarters should be more 68-69 GTO like, perhaps a set of LeMans wagon quarters would be a good starting point.
