Didn't early '63 big cars have 4 bolt water pumps?

Did late '62 super dutys have alternators or did all of them have generators?

Question on the 4 bolt water pump. Told by a member on here that I should try to get a pump with the long spiral vanes instead of the shorter 1" vanes. Does anyone on here know a part number that will get me the correct long vane pump instead of "hit and miss" at my local parts store?

From an old thread yesterday I got a Cardone pump # 58-594.

Thanks in advance, Jerry

Thanks, BigAqua....I guess I'll give the Cardone # 58-594 pump a try and see what I get.

I have owned and seen several model year 63 engines, both 389 and 421 (street), that were built in calendar year '62 with 4-bolt H2O pumps.

Also, I believe that alternator equipped '62s were A/C only. It would be interesting to gather data on the known SDs that are alternator equipped.
