Default Dash repair

I picked up a nice dash were the vinyl is good, no cracks. The problem is whoever took it out of the car cracked the plast shell in some areas, probably by prying when all the bolts and/ or screws were not out.

I hate to throw this away, can the plastic be repaired, either by glueing, or do I need heat to melt it back together? Not sure what type of plastic core shell is made of. Its too bad since the vinyl looks real good.

Any ideas on the plastic? Thanks

I have used a soldering gun, big one, 100 watts and nylon ty-wraps across the broken areas and melt them in to the unbroken frame. They are not seen and work better than glue. I have seen glue guns used, but some breaks again it seems. Don't toss a good pad!

I can try melting it together. I do know that different plastics take different techniques. Also the curved area above the steeering column is busted which effects the strenght.

Man I wished they would have been more careful.

curved area is commonly broken, I have melted and repaired a few. The factory plasit seems to have alot of air in it as repair plastic is usually more dense
