Default Craigslist charging to post car ads

Well, this sucks! Apparently craigslist is now charging $5 to post your car for sale. Although it's nice to get rid of the spammers and fake ads, this has severely reduced the regular car ads. I enjoy checking out craigslist quite frequently mostly to see the Pontiacs for sale, so this change is terrible!!!!! Has anyone noticed this change?

It does suck I guess, but at the same time if it reduces fake scam ads I can live with it. Honestly I think more and more stuff is moving to FB Marketplace. You have to create a whole profile to fake an ad, its harder to do. And you can spot fake profiles easier. If you click on a profile of the seller and they have information and pictures posted going back years, its pretty safe bet that its real.

I haven't noticed any reduction in the number of ads, there are 3000 cars for sale by owner on my local Craigslist today. Everyone wants everything for free these days - really, only having to 5 bucks to advertise a car is still a great bargain.

I agree, I dont see how it will weed out scammers though, whats $5 if someone is running a scam for a few hundred to a few thousand dollars? just the price of business.
