Lovin my old Acrylic Lacquer interior paint
I've been painting a few things on the interior of the GTO with some 30 year old PPG acrylic lacquer ... "Medium Gold Poly" and the 30 year quart of PPG reducer I bought with it way back.
Jeez this stuff sprays nice. Shot this steering column with an Ani R150 gun, 1.0mm tip, about 40 psi. By the time you finish one coat of this lacquer it's completely dry and ready for the next coat. I was using medium reducer on a 60 degree day and it seemed super tolerant to however you want to shoot it. I'm guessing 68-69 owners with an Ivy Gold interior are the only people that would consider this beautiful

Looks great! Feel free to widen your generalization of those who like this to people who follow 68-69 build threads on PY Forums.

I agree it looks great. Have a friend who just painted his '70 Boss 302 with acrylic lacquer he bought in 1978. The car came out looking factory fresh. The old-school 'toxic' finishes laid out and looked the best, and still do, IMO. Well done!

I would have repainted my whole car in Acrylic Lacquer if it was commonly available.
Wonder if you can put a modern CC over the top of it? This interior paint I'm using is only like 60% gloss, so hard to tell what kind of shine it would have had. Sure the old paint didn't last .... but my car is likely to see about 5% of the sun an original 60's car would have seen. Would probably last forever that way I would treat it.
