Just got the old set of Mity Mounts off.....they're maybe 2 years old at most.....the steel measures .150 or so.
Brand new set measures about .125.......new set comes in a repackaged box Dropped the tech dept. at Mity Mounts (Dynatech Engineering) an email wanting to know if I can trade them for a more robust set like the older style I have already.... They said "sure...send 'em back"...and they sent me a UPS call tag. Received the new mounts in about 10 days, but they were the same old "thin" style.... Emailed them back, they said, "sorry you're not satisfied...please return them for a full refund, don't forget the receipt." I email back "Can I simply get a pair of the old style mounts that are made with thicker steel??" They replied that "what you received represents what we offer"...or something like that.....LOL |

Mity mounts lite,,,that's brilliant...
![]() Typical, kinda like selling the same "size" bag of chips for the same price while reducing the net weight of the contents. ![]() They'll almost certainly pass the blame onto their supplier. ![]() |

I ordered a pair of mounts from NAPA the other day...the steel is alot thinner than the originals!...and they also do not look straight where they would bolt to the block.
They say "Anchor" on them....far from the OEM quality.

I posted on another thread, there's something going on with the engine mounts. PY only offers the passenger side (400s), just as a start.
Anyone using Mity Mounts with Doug's headers and round ports? Do the mounts have to be trimmed? .

Here is the response I just got to a question I asked their tech support......
I'm really not trying to be a pest.....just never had my concerns addresses......... I bought a set of Mity Mounts about 2 years ago........the steel measures about .150. I'm replacing my engine, ordered another set and the steel measures about .125. You were kind enough to exchange them for anoither set, but the steel measures about ,125 again. I want to know if I can the old thicker steel size....... Are they unavailable? Has your supplier changed their specs? Can you get me the old (thicker) style??? Please see attached photos. Regards, Jim The thickness you received is the thickness avaialable. MityMounts carries a lifetime warranty in case of failure. Thank you for your question. |

The reason they have no real replies for you is that they have NO control over their raw stock. Their raw stock being Korean made standard Pontiac motor mounts, which have been cheapened recently with thinner steel. When you don't make your product from start to finish you have no control. Mity Mounts custom work on Pontiac mounts is limited to adding a "limiting" screw to the driver side mount and grinding the part numbers mostly off of the Korean mounts they use as the basis for their product.

You don't have to trim the safety tab off the driver's side? What year body do you have?

It doesn't matter what year car you have 64-72. I had my engine on the stand & put the headers on. The driver side header hits the mount/tang. I wouldn't waste the xtra $$$ on mity mounts. Round Port instructions tell you to grind or cut off the tang. After that they fit perfect on my 69 GTO.
