Default Edelbrock Heads Price Drop

Interesting
Was looking at heads for a new project and noticed the 60599 heads at summit that were $1438 ea are now $999 ea regular price.
In fact it looks like all of their Pontiac Head Prices have been reduced.

Finally stopped raping the Pontiac people.
Been a nice little gravy train for them. There are other better choices out there now.

I just paid 2K for a used set of 72CC, if I waited another 2 weeks I could have bought a new set for that.

Now, does Speedmaster drop to answer Edelbrocks price drop? Speedmaster is also quite a bit higher than their Olds heads are priced. They seem to have followed the Edelbrock pricing structure by pricing the Pontiac heads much higher than the other orphaned lower demand divisions heads.

I.E. Complete Olds heads are $1493 at Jegs, Pontiac heads are $1869, Randy Repp is right around $1799 for the Pontiac Speedmaster heads.

I currently have a set of RA IV SR 614 heads, and a set of 197 71 HO heads. I might be able to afford a set aluminum heads if they keep dropping the prices...………...

Murf,
I have not received the Speedmaster heads yet. Was hoping they would be here this week. Not sure if anyone else has received theirs yet.

I got the bare pair I bought in about a week. Gave them a cursory look over. Look pretty good to my untrained eye. I am looking to get a flow check on them. I have to buy all the valve train first. I don’t know what I’m going to run them own, so picking springs is sketchy right now.

As soon as these get here I hope to flow one. Did you get the assembled or bare castings?

I got them complete. They go on a 406 street strip engine. I'm going to check everything.

The 61515 heads with 72cc CNC chamber are 1200$. The 61519 heads with 7s cc CNC chamber are 1500$. How much were they before the drop. What is the difference between the two and do they both have the Ls chamber with spark plug located closer to the exhaust ?

There were photos on FB of the SM heads. A few intake ports had a ridge as if the cutting tool did not go deep enough, just below the gasket surface.

not disparaging just relaying info.

I hope you are jumping all over Edelbrock for copying that LS chamber.... Since you are the "copycat police"

This industry is half a step away from being totally f'd! Summit is constantly screwing with their prices. I think the sales tax deal really hurt them.
