It's against the rules to "copy cat" .....just saying

But with that being said, if you copy the drawings of the first aftermarket block that was copied from the OEM block who exactly are you copying?

"Copies " was not used in the literal sense or with any negative connotations...
Just saying both blocks are "copies" of the Pontiac dimensions....
I wasn't referring to the underhanded stuff that went on in that whole deal

Apple Computer, Inc. v. Microsoft Corp.
Microsoft Corporation, 35 F. 3d 1435 (9th Cir. 1994), was a copyright infringement lawsuit in which Apple Computer, Inc. ... sought to prevent Microsoft and Hewlett-Packard from using visual graphical user interface (GUI) elements that were similar to those in Apple's Lisa and Macintosh operating systems.

In the midst of the Apple v. Microsoft lawsuit, Xerox also sued Apple alleging that Mac's GUI was heavily based on Xerox's. ... Apple lost all claims in the Microsoft suit except for the ruling that the trash can icon and folder icons from Hewlett-Packard's NewWave windows application were infringing.

What this means is if you have copied something from someone and someone copies it from you don't think you can sue them.

Pretty sure but it's been a while since I looked at real information on copyright and patents if you copy BUT change a small percentage then its deemed ok because there is a substantial amount of deviation from the original

And on a engine block that wouldn't be hard to accomplish

2009 I purchased a block from KRE at Norwalk when they discounted them for the show but I haven't used it still. I'm hoping it was the improved block. It doesn't have any markings around the distributor hole. Hoping
it will be a good block whenever or if I decide to us it.

The only MR-1 blocks that had issues are the tri-cast ones... I can't speak for all of them, only mine..
That problem has been corrected... either block, ia2 or Mr-1 will work for the you... that's the short answer...
I don't say that lightly... trust me, I cant stand kre for the way they handled my issues....
So a good review coming from me is painful yet honest...

Buy the way, why don't you but the D rotor screw? I will loan you a 14-71 if you will turn it up.. I think you're scared.....
I will loan you a blower with bag if you run it at 30% or more....
It's not one of those little street blowers u run...ita a retro case with 120° rotors...
Most likely, it would blow you chit up..

Mains were good. I bored and honed to size. Decks are good but I still decked them to get to zero with the rod/piston combo I was using. Same goes for both blocks.

The only aftermarket block failure( more than one) I seen is the IA2 block I never seen or heard of a MR1 block fail since KRE fixed their casting problems .JMO ..

A lot of part (any part) failures are in the build, lack of knowledge ior understanding is a big cause of it.

Anyone can build a time bomb and have it break and blame it on faulty parts.

The aftermarket block should be viewed as core blocks. Everything needs done to them but in the end you have something that can take what you throw at it. Thinking other wise is stupid.
