No gloves here. How hot are you getting it to adjust the valves? I adjust mine between 160-180. I do one side, restart the motor to keep the temp in that range and adjust the other side.

Does it matter? Skin does not come in contact. Unless you are adjusting valves on an old flathead and even then you use tools.

No gives while adjusting the valves but wear mechanics gloves when I pull the plugs. They get pretty hot.

I do a couple hot then measure them cold and do them all cold. I figure by the time I get to the last ones they are not as hot as the first ones-and my hands are not as toasty!

OK guys I deserve that - I guess that I am getting a little white collar-ish! LOL! Pruis?????
I never have used gloves to work on anything ever and for the first time I am buying gloves to protect me now because of all the carb cleaners and solvents used over the years - doc says not cool and may have caused some health issues - most breathing problems. Yes, running valves in the pits I do remember that the plugs get hot. I will buy some nitrile gloves for cleaner use. Thanks and Take Care, Craig |

I took a ride in a Tesla. It was pretty fast and requires no valve adjustment.

Best I have used are the gorilla grips for wrenching. Get them on the smallish side for your hand size. They stretch.

My IT guy 's dad has a Tesla, several Prowlers, Vipers and a GTO). The dad developed something like the bank drive-in vacuum tubes so dad is well off. He said the Tesla has all the power as soon as you hit the gas.
